Financial Support to HK underpriviledged Students

MAYAA main focus -in HK as in NEPAL- is to allow children from poor social and financial backgrounds to look forward to a bright future by helping them with their education costs.

Since MAYAA HK has become an NGO (officially registered by the HK government in 2016), we have started to help Hong Kong families in precarious situations, purchasing school uniforms, school books and other expensive materials as well as paying examination fees.

In Hong Kong, 20% of the population is still living below the poverty level.

Currently, we are helping five local schools:

  • St Claire’s Girl School - Pokfulam District, Hong Kong
  • St Stephan’s Church College - Pokfulam District, Hong Kong
  • Man Kiu Association Primary School - Kwun Tong, Kowloon
  • Christian & Missionary Alliance Sun Kei Primary School - Ping Shek, Kowloon
  • HHCLK Buddhist Chan Shi Wan Primary School - Sheung Shui – New Territories)

In addition to this financial support, MAYAA Hong Kong provides these schools with educational toys and books (genrously donated by our supporters).

We also help students to pay their GCSE exam fees which enable them to qualify for university enrollment.
